Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia was arrested on Wednesday after Punjab’s Vigilance Bureau conducted a surprise raid at his Amritsar residence. The unannounced search by nearly a dozen officials led to protests from Majithia’s family. Tensions escalated when Majithia’s wife, Ganieve Kaur, confronted the officers, alleging they entered without warning.
