6.1-magnitude earthquake hits western Turkey; shaking felt in Istanbul and Izmir

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake rattled western Turkey on Sunday evening, impacting cities like Istanbul and Izmir. According to AFAD, the quake struck Balikesir province’s Sindirgi district at a depth of 11 km. While the tremor was felt across multiple provinces, initial reports indicate no casualties or significant damage.
