‘Act of God, no one responsible’: Builder of Andhra temple where 9 died in stampede

A stampede at a privately run temple in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, killed nine devotees and injured over 25 when a railing collapsed on a narrow staircase. Panic ensued in a crowd of over 20,000 gathered for Karthika Ekadashi, with poor crowd control and lack of official clearance contributing to the tragedy. Authorities are investigating the incident.
