Karnataka revokes 2022 order, allows hijab in schools, colleges

Karnataka has withdrawn its 2022 dress code order, now permitting students to wear religious symbols like hijabs, turbans, and sacred threads alongside uniforms. This new policy, effective from the next academic year for classes 1-12, aims to balance institutional discipline with individual freedoms. The BJP criticized the move as “vote-bank appeasement.”
