The device overheated on soft bedding, igniting her hair and then the surrounding room. She managed to extinguish the flames herself before emergency services arrived. Doctors diagnosed her with second-degree burns covering a significant portion of her back. Otavina now urges others to charge devices safely on firm surfaces and never while sleeping.
