US govt to Europe over Elon Musk’s X – ‘Stop troubling our companies’

The EU has fined Elon Musk’s X platform €120 million for violating digital transparency rules, particularly its ‘blue checkmark’ system. This move has ignited a diplomatic spat with the US, with officials accusing Brussels of attacking American free speech and tech companies. EU officials, however, maintain the penalty targets transparency, not censorship.
