Delhi govt declares public holiday on November 7 for Chhath Puja

Delhi chief minister Atishi declared a public holiday on November 7 for Chhath Puja, following a request from lieutenant governor V K Saxena. This Hindu festival, mainly celebrated in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, involves a four-day routine of worshipping the sun god. Announcement aims to enable the Purvanchal community to celebrate fully.
