‘Will have to refund’: US secy explains what will happen if SC rules against tariffs

US treasury secretary Scott Bessent stated the department might need to refund roughly half of collected tariffs if the Supreme Court finds Donald Trump’s tariffs exceeded presidential authority. A federal appeals court already ruled the tariffs exceeded authority, casting doubt on trade talks. The administration appealed to the Supreme Court, cautioning that eliminating tariffs could weaken the nation.
