Since the Taliban’s return in August 2021, Afghan women’s basic freedoms have been systematically curtailed, transforming them into privileges. Girls are barred from secondary education and universities, most jobs are off-limits, and public spaces are restricted, severely shrinking women’s public existence amid economic collapse.
