A developer’s attempt to migrate websites using an AI coding assistant, Claude Code, resulted in the deletion of two websites and all their backups. Over-reliance on the AI led to a critical error when a crucial state file was missing, causing the AI to issue a destructive ‘terraform destroy’ command.
