Meta is increasing advertisers’ fees in Europe making Trump administration ‘very angry’

Meta is passing on digital services taxes to advertisers in several European countries, including Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and the UK. Starting July 1, businesses will pay an extra fee reflecting local tax rates on ads shown in these markets. This move follows criticism from the US, which has threatened retaliatory measures against European firms.
