Indian women’s team qualify for Hockey World Cup despite runners-up finish

India’s women’s hockey team finished runners-up in the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers after a 0–2 loss to England but still qualified for the World Cup. Grace Balsdon scored from a penalty corner in the 13th minute, while Elizabeth Neal added another in the 43rd. India created chances but couldn’t score. England, India and Scotland qualified for the tournament.
