US company fined $313K over ‘bias’ in Python developer hiring

A New Jersey firm, Compunnel Software Group, will pay over $313,000 to settle claims of illegally favoring temporary visa holders over US citizens for jobs. The Justice Department’s investigation revealed a pattern of citizenship-based discrimination in recruiting. The company must also undergo anti-discrimination training and revise its policies to prevent such practices.
