Ronaldo ends 60-year wait, breaks Portugal World Cup record

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal thrashed Uzbekistan 5-0 to strengthen their FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout hopes and rewrite national history. The 41-year-old became Portugal’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer with 10 goals, surpassing Eusébio’s 60-year-old record, while also extending his own record as the first player to score in six different World Cup tournaments.
