Accidental cricketer: Konthoujam’s journey from boxing rings to first-class cricket

Before cricket, Bishworjit Konthoujam was a boxer who won school and state medals before making the switch to cricket. In his village, he would stop games and ask, “Ek ball karane do, please.” He had never played formal leather-ball cricket before adapting to the game. Years later, he has 147 first-class wickets and dismissed 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the Duleep Trophy.
