110 years since tanks entered the battlefield; how they have evolved

Tanks have undergone significant transformation, evolving from basic trench-crossing vehicles to critical components of combined-arms warfare. In World War Two, they became the backbone of armored formations, while Cold War innovations led to the development of main battle tanks for vast combat scenarios. Today, amidst modern warfare complexities involving drones and precision anti-tank weaponry, tanks are utilized effectively at smaller unit levels, providing essential firepower and infantry support.
